The Europeanisation Project
The EU project Europeanisation has been developed with the aim of supporting educational organisations (VET, adult education) in their journey to Europe through an online self-assessment tool which will provide institutions with detailed individual recommendations for future action. The project was funded by the Erasmus+ programme and was carried out over a period of two years by seven partners from five European countries.
This project has been given the ‘Good Practice Example’ award from the Erasmus+ Programme’s National Agency NA-BiBB.
The European Commission has set ambitious targets for the Erasmus+ programme 2014-2020: almost 4 million Europeans should take part in formal and non-formal learning activities abroad and 125,000 international European partnerships should be established. Particular emphasis is put on ‘newcomers’: organisations which have not previously participated in European or transnational projects.
Many organisations are, however, not sufficiently equipped to meet these goals or carry out these Europeanisation strategies. Institutions often lack a wide range of abilities in their human resources or in other operational, technical and financial areas. The Europeanisation project will help organisations to identify the necessary competencies for work on an international level through an online self-assessment tool. The tool will provide them with greater clarity about their strengths and weaknesses and advise them how to develop their skills.
The self-assessment tool was developed both for those involved in vocational and adult education and for companies serving as learning and training facilities that operate on a local, regional or international level. It takes into account the needs of different forms of organisations (nonprofit, public and private sectors) and can be used in all European countries.
The expected impact of this project is that educational institutions will be better prepared to Europeanise themselves and will develop more successful and durable strategies for Europeanisation and internationalisation.
The project was funded by the European Union within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, KA2-Cooperation and Innovation for Good Practices.
